How do I place an order?
Visit our How it Works page for details on placing a search request or no-fee retailers request. Or visit our Request Page to enter all of your details. Be sure to include a weblink or picture, and indicate your size and color preference so that our shoppers can reply to you as quickly as possible.
What items can I request?
Virtually anything. While our focus is on luxury apparel, many of our clients request gift certificates for Apple iTunes or Sony eBooks, various sporting events and concierge services. Use your imagination and send us your request.
Is there a minimum order size required?
To ensure the highest level of service for all our clients, there is a minimum order size of US$250 for search requests. Alternatively, you will be charged a minimum search fee of US$25.
There is no minimum order size for requests at our no-fee retailers, but you should be aware of the costs of international shipping. See our sample rates below.
Do I have to pay for domestic shipping from the retailer to Shopgopher?
In most cases, retailers do not charge for shipping within the USA. That means all of your orders arrive at our warehouse without incurring additional charges. A detailed cost summary is always provided before you make your final decision to complete your request and our personal shoppers are trained to minimize such costs.
Do I have to pay any sales tax?
Most online retailers do not charge any sales tax. For retailers that have a physical presence in New York City, there is a sales tax of 8.875%. Occasionally, there are tax free days for shopping so sign up for our newsletter to get regular updates. Your detailed cost summary will indicate if any sales tax has been charged.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Paypal and all major credit cards. For your security we do not store any of your credit card information on our website. Bank wire transfers are also accepted and your personal shopper can provide further instructions.
Do I have to pay any customs duties?
We do not prepay customs duties on behalf of clients. FedEx is our exclusive shipping provider and will notify you of any duties payable upon delivery. There is some flexibility in the declared value for shipment so please ask your personal shopper for details.
What shipping methods are available?
To provide our clients with the highest levels of service, we use FedEx International exclusively for all packages. Delivery is guaranteed within 2-3 business days to all major locations and real-time tracking information is provided for all international shipments. Using FedEx exclusively also provides us with a volume discount that is passed on to our clients.
Your detailed cost summary will always show you the FedEx charge. Our personal shoppers are trained to minimize these costs on your behalf. See below for a sample of shipping charges:
- Standard FedEx Box – fits 4 sweaters or dresses (17” x 12” x 3”) - $55
- Small – fits 1 pair of shoes (12” x 9” x 6”) - $55
- Medium – fits 2 pairs of shoes (13” x 9” x 11”) - $70
- Large – fits 10 pairs of shoes & 3 pairs of jeans (20” x 20” x 12”) - $150
- Handbag – Fits 1 handbag & 1 pair of shoes (17” x 17” x 7”) - $70
- Boots – fits 1 pair of knee-high boots (25” x 18” x 8”) - $120
Can you ship my request to a destination other than my billing address?
Your initial orders will need to be shipped to your billing address to confirm your identity. Once a relationship with ShopGopher has been established we can ship to you anywhere in the world. We can also help you with sending gifts to multiple recipients.
Can you help me purchase items on eBay or other auction sites?
Yes, but this service is reserved only for clients with a longstanding relationship with ShopGopher. Depending on the specific auction details, an estimated payment may be required in advance. Please ask your personal shopper for details.
Can I cancel or change my order?
All changes or cancellations should take place ahead of receiving your payment. Once your items are ordered, we will accept your request to change or cancel an order and may charge you for the cost of returning your items to each retailer.
How do I return an item?
Returns are accepted subject to the policy of the specific retailer used to complete your request. In general, we purchase items from retailers who accept returns within 30-60 days but most designer boutiques have a store credit policy only. Return shipping to ShopGopher is the responsibility of the client. if you are unsure about an item, please ask your personal shopper for the specific return policy related to your request.
Contact your personal shopper for return instructions. No returns are accepted without prior approval by your personal shopper.
